Huge coup for the club.’’
‘’I’m extremely excited to be back,’’ Platty said, ‘’I came to watch the Redditch game a week ago and everything just screamed out to me to come home, I want to be a part of a successful Halesowen team and now is the right time, Paul has done a wonderful job so far and has been very unlucky with COVID but now we have to push on and hit the targets which have been set and I cannot wait to get started! We caught up with Manager Paul Smith on his first signing ahead of the forthcoming season, ‘’this is a massive signing for the club, as Joe is the first player from our full time Academy to sign a contract at the club.
He is a local lad that has worked his way through our age groups. He has stood out in our under 18’s and our under 21’s, and has excelled in our Academy.
He is a fantastic finisher and will only get better.
There is no better proof of the pathway we are developing at the club, than an academy player signing a first team contract.
It just shows that our model is working.
I’m hopeful he will be the first of many going forward.’’
Director of Football Keith McKenna was full of praise for Joe’s progress, ‘’I am delighted to see Joe go through our footballing process and sign for the 1st team at such a young age. Congratulations.’’

The Gaffer Commits
HALESOWEN TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB are delighted to announce that First Team Manager has committed his future to the Yeltz.
The beginning of the 2021-2022 season will be Paul Smith’s third at the helm at the Yeltz, but the global pandemic brought a premature halt to the previous two seasons, the 2019-20 being particularly frustrating with Halesowen Town heading towards a potential promotion and The FA Trophy semi-final moved from two legs to one.
His brand of football and quality of signings soon made Paul a very firm fans favourite.
On committing his future Paul had this to say, ‘’ I’m delighted to have agreed terms on another contract at this fantastic club. I’m a very ambitious Manager, and I am extremely lucky to have found owners and a club that share my ambitions.
Through no fault of our own it’s been a very frustrating couple of years since I arrived, although we already have some fantastic memories to cherish, all that has made us even more determined to bring success to our amazing Yeltz faithful.
I have a very special relationship with the owners that continues to grow, that’s based on honesty, integrity and a desire to improve every facet of the football club year on year.
I feel we have done that but have so much more to do.
We all can’t wait for the new season to commence and continue our journey.’’
We caught up with Director of Football Keith McKenna, ‘’Great news that Paul has committed his future to Halesowen Town and really looking forward to working together to drive us up the leagues. Both Karen and I have been markedly impressed by the professionalism, dedication and organisation of the team and the staff under Paul’s guidance and we are privileged to have him on board. We are excited for the season ahead and can’t wait to get started.’’

Club captain Paul McCone has agreed contract terms until the end of the 2020 - 21 season. Our no-nonsense number 5 has been a massive influence on the squad so far this season and Paul Smith was more than keen to secure his services going forward.
‘’I was very surprised to have the opportunity to sign Paul in the summer,’’ Paul Smith commented, ‘’I knew how good he was. What he has done has surpassed even my expectations. He has been outstanding so far this season, and has led the players brilliantly. It was crucial to me and the club to get the skipper tied down, I'm delighted to have done that. He will be the first of a number of players I'm looking to get deals agreed with in the coming weeks.’’
We asked Macca for his reasons on committing for the next term, ‘’ When the opportunity came to join Halesowen at the start of this season it was one I grabbed with both hands. The way the season has gone so far, it is a testament to what the gaffa, snapper and his team bring to the club, so to stay on for the forthcoming season was a no brainier for me. Hopefully we can keep moving forward with the support from the amazing fans, the 12th man has been incredible this season. I personally can’t thank them enough for making me and my family feel so welcome. I can’t wait to get back playing and hopefully as a team, we can get the club back up the leagues where it belongs.’’

The loan is initially until January 28th and we wish Lewis all the best in his spell there.
HALESOWEN TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB are delighted to welcome back an attacking midfielder and former fan’s favourite to the squad.
Ahmed Ali re-joins the Yeltz and will be available for selection for Saturday’s game against Aylesbury United subject to League ratification. He is also available for our forthcoming FA Trophy game against Maidenhead United.

Paul Smith was delighted to team up with Ahmed once more, ‘’Ahmed is a fantastic footballer who I have worked with on numerous occasions before he went to Qatar. As soon as he made me aware he was returning it made perfect sense to bring him in on the back of losing Reece Hewitt. It's one thing signing players when you are struggling. It's another when you can add a player of Ahmed's quality to an already impressive squad who are flying. He will improve us again. Huge thanks to Keith and Karen, who as ever have helped get this over the line.’’
We are sure you will all join us in welcoming Ahmed back to the Grove.

Striker leaves the Yeltz
HALESOWEN TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB can confirm that this morning Paul Smith and Lee Hughes have mutually agreed that it would be best for both parties for Lee to move on.
Lee scored 13 goals in 51 appearances for the Yeltz, his goals and influence helped to keep us at step 3 during the 2017-18 season and had a ten-game spell as Player Manager towards the end of last season, sadly just one win and four draws were not enough to stave off relegation.
On Lee’s departure Paul stated ‘’Lee has been fantastic since I arrived at the club, a top player and he has helped immensely with the young squad we have here. I’m gutted he is moving on. I do completely understand though, he needs and wants to be playing week in, week out as he nears the end of his playing days. The form of others hasn’t allowed him to do that here.
