FA Trophy

The FA Trophy was started in 1969, to give teams below the football league a chance to play at Wembley. Halesowen have had some great runs in this competition, until 2019/20 season the furthest The Yeltz have ever reach was the third round proper three times.

In 1994/95 season The Yeltz reached the Third Round Proper for the first time, only to be knocked out by Rushden & Diamond 6-1away from home.

In 1999/00 season Halesowen reached the Third Round against meeting Doncaster Rovers away from home in a 1-1 draw, in the replay at home they were knocked out in a 2-3 defeat.

2002/03 season The Yeltz reached the third round again but their run was ended away from home at Alfreton Town in a 2-1 defeat.

2019/20 season Halesowen Town Football Club made history by reaching the Semi Final of the FA Trophy playing through 9 rounds (13 games including replays), (Dereham Town 2-1, Evesham 1-1 -  Replay 3-1, Stamford 2-2  -  Replay 3-0, Grantham 2-1, Gateshead 1-0, Bradford PA 2-2  - Replay 2-0, Maidenhead 2-2  -  Replay 3-1, FC Halifax 1-0, Barnet 2-1, Concord Rangers (Semi Fianl - only one leg not the normal two) The Yeltz got re-drawn away from home in a 2-1 defeat.

Halesowen Town Football Club, Made history in the 2019/20 season in the FA Trophy under Manager Paul Smith in getting to the Semi Final of the FA Trophy a season we will all remember for a long time knocking out three National League (Step 1) sides out of the competition. Before this amazing run The Yeltz had only ever got as far as the Third Round Proper.
