Following the abandonment of the Brookes-Clark Charity Shield second leg match at Stourbridge FC at half-time, we have reviewed our match day operations to ascertain where we can improve for the purposes of the safety of players, management, officials and of course most importantly our fans.
It was evident that the predominant issue at the match was individuals 16 years and below, not accompanied by an adult, who displayed anti-social behaviour and seemed intent on causing trouble and who ordinarily do not attend matches at Stourbridge FC or Halesowen Town FC. Clearly, for the enjoyment and predominantly the safety of everyone in the ground we have been looking at what other Clubs at a higher level have done to combat this issue.
We have been speaking to Maidstone United, newly promoted to the National League about their Youth Membership Card scheme and they have been extremely helpful in assisting us in developing this scheme for Halesowen Town FC for the upcoming season 2022/23.
We know the majority of our 12 - 16 year old fans are well behaved and come to watch the football, support the team and enjoy the afternoon with friends. For these individuals, if you wish to continue to come to The Grove unaccompanied by an adult, you will need to sign up for a Youth Membership Card otherwise you will be unable to do so. There is no charge for this, you just need to get your parents to complete the online form (link below) and submit your application and we will do the rest.
The only exception will be if you are the holder of a Youth Season Ticket or you become a Youth Membership Card Holder.
There will be no admittance to The Grove, on any match day, for 16 years and below without a paying adult (18+) or concession (60+). There will be NO exceptions to this rule unless you are a Youth season ticket or Youth membership card holder.
The policy of Under 12's not allowed into the ground without a paying adult (18+) or concession (60+) will also continue without exception
We hope everyone understand the reason for the introduction of this scheme and the need to protect our Club and fans from this mindless minority whose behaviour is completely unacceptable.
If you would like to apply for a Youth Membership Card, please complete the form below and upload the parental ID and a photo of the young person for their membership card.
Before completing the form, please make sure you read the ground regulations for The Grove to which you and your child(ren) are agreeing to adhere to.
