The Halesowen Town U14s are having a remarkable season, having been crowned JPL Midlands Regional Group Champions this season.
They went the season unbeaten, winning 16 from 18 league games, and they are now a step closer to being crowned the National JPL champions.
The team travelled three hours last Saturday to Holbeach United, where in a play-off semi-final they won 4-2.
Their victory has set up a final play-off game against Peterborough RTC on Saturday (10 May) where another win will secure a place in the JPL Champion of Champions weekend at Warwickshire University, which would give the team a great chance to become National champions.
The club have passed on their thanks to Manager James Smith, and coaches Scott Richards and Sam Coles for guiding the group to the Midland title, and showing real coaching and developmental qualities.
A second thanks goes to the parents who have committed a lot of time taking their children to training sessions and every game in all weather conditions.
They also praised kit sponsors I.J.S Installations, D. Wilson Architectural Metalwork, and Black Country Safety Inspections who have all generously funded the team throughout the season.
There has also been incredible support from Halesowen Town Football Club, and Chairman Keith McKenna, alongside Ace Embroidery Ltd for providing kits and training wear and The Sports Shop Kingswinford for various trophies and awards.
Finally, a thanks goes to the fantastic and extremely talented players! It has been a season of potential, togetherness, friendship, camaraderie and connections. There is certainly a bright future ahead for them.
Their final play-off game kicks off at 10am at Yaxley FC, and hopefully we can bring good news come Saturday evening!
Up The Yeltz!
