Halesowen Town Football Club, re-start the league season after two months of lockdowns and tiers 3 and 4 with an away game at Aylesbury United a team we only played once last season.

The Yeltz last league game was away to AFC Dunstable on a strange afternoon before Boris put us all back into Lockdown in November.  The game finished in a 3-1 defeat for The Yeltz with Dan Westwood netting the only Yeltz goal with a penalty in the last minutes of the game.  We had everything from the hosts worrying the game would go ahead with some dodgy places on the pitch and a very windy afternoon down in Dunstable.

The Yeltz have played friendlies against local sides to keep their fitness up and trained when they could, everyone at Halesowen Town are just waiting to get back on the pitch now and kick start the season again.  The Yeltz currently sit in seventh place in the league, with 11 points from the first 7 games, with a game in hand on some teams around them.

Aylesbury’s last competitive game was on the 1st November in the FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round at home against Margate, where they were beaten 4-2 and went out of the trophy.  Their last league game was at home against Bedford Town in a 0-0 draw on Wednesday 28th October 2020.  The Ducks like The Yeltz will just be wanting to get back on the pitch and kick start their season again as they currently sit in fourth place with 13 points from seven games.

Last time we met Aylesbury was at The Grove back in December 2019 a game that saw us finish with all three points and a 4-1 win, in a history making season for Halesowen Town where we made the FA Trophy Semi Final for the first time in our 148 year history.

Let’s all stay safe, stay healthy and go down to Aylesbury and re-start the season how we finished last season, and bring all the points back to The Grove.
