Halesowen Town Football Club, Will now get ready for a trip to Stamford this Saturday, Both teams came up to this division at the end of last season and will be the first team we go up against for the second time this season. Lots of positives from Saturday’s home win over league leaders Mickleover to take into this

weekend.

Last time out, The Yeltz at home against league leaders Mickleover on a cold Saturday afternoon and not many games being played, Halesowen managed to get the match on.  First half the visitors had a bit more of the ball but couldn’t find the finishing touch and it was Halesowen who took the leader from Parker getting his first goal for Halesowen, The Yeltz kept up the pressure and could of added to the score but we went in at half time 1-0 up.  Second half Halesowen where the quickest to started and another first career goal this time from young Caine Elliott firing into the top of the net. The visitors got a goal back but it wasn’t enough and a strong Yeltz side made sure we kept all the points and Mickleovers lead at the top drops to just 3 points.

Last time out for Stamford, was back on the 25th November when they made the trip to Leiston, a game that didn’t take Stamford long to score, with Lee Shaw scoring after just 3 minutes, Chitza doubled their lead in the 8th minute, but then Leiston turned on and got one back just before half time, taking Stamford into the break with a 2-1 lead.  Second half was all Leiston and after 63rd minute brought it back level after a few Stamford changes it was Leiston who took all 3 points after a 93rd minute winner.

Halesowen Town are unbeaten in their last four league games currently sitting in 7th place with 31 points from the first 19 games and currently have 1 game in hand on 6th place Stratford Town. While Stamford find themselves in 10th place with 29 points from 18 games. We’ve visited Stamford a few times in Paul Smith’s years at The Yeltz.

Lets take a good noisy Yeltz following over this weekend and help The Yeltz boys make it 5 unbeaten, and bring all 3 points back to The Grove.
